‘Build your shield’ by James (2009)
The shield enables you to pick out all the best skills, qualifications, and competencies for any job that you may be applying for.
Hard skills: These are any qualifications you have or other practical abilities such as driving, using a computer or speaking other languages.
Soft Skills: these are behaviour and interpersonal skills you may have, and which many recruiters value higher than the hard skills. Such as, listening, communicating, motivating etc.
Achievements: such as, run a marathon, worked in charity, won a sport etc.
Personality: words that define you as a person. Such as, optimistic, confident, hardworking etc.
